The Challenge of Information Security - Abe Administration: Policy Profile

With the Information Technology revolution sweeping through society, we are becoming more and more dependent on IT systems. Robust protection for IT systems is essential, but hackers may find a way to damage a system, natural disaster may disrupt services, and software bugs and human error may cause system failure. That is why the government devised a comprehensive strategy for information security. In 2005 it set up the Information Security Policy Councilalong with the Council's administrative headquarters, the National Information Security Center. Moreover, February 2nd was designated Information Security Day. This video presents various ways in which the government of Japan, an advanced IT nation, is addressing the challenge of information security.
