With the G8 Summit fast approaching, much interest in Japan has been focused on environmental issues. As part of its efforts to prevent global warming, the Ministry of the Environment invited applications for its One Village, One Product initiative, and received some 1,074 responses from all over Japan. After an initial screening process, a national One Village, One Product award ceremony was held on February 9th and 10th to mark the inaugural campaign.
