Kutani-yaki: A Canvas of Five Vibrant Colors
Kutani-yaki (or Kutani ware) originated in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture in the early Edo period (or 17th century).
It has rich coloration and a dignified presence―often referred to as “Japan’s oil painting.”
