In 2002, North Korea admitted for the first time that it had abducted Japanese citizens and apologized.
However, only five of the abductees retuned to Japan, while the others have not yet been able to come back.
The families of the abductees are still awaiting the return of these most important persons in their lives in intense grief, and appeal for their earnest hope for reunion.
